Through her work, Anna Pakosz (b. 1991, Hungary) follows energetic and vital impulses. Her paintings are born out of an intuitive dialogue between colour acting as the initial gesture and the figurative image that emerges.  Often distorted, sometimes animalistic, these figures reveal themselves, acting out immediate emotion or passionate gestures, or they simply sit in stillness.  Narrative layers and symbolic motifs run throughout Pakosz’s work, encouraging discourse on the topics of the pursuit of personal freedom, intimacy, and connection. .
